I was initially a bit sceptical about booking after reading some mixed reviews, but I'm happy to say that my experience exceeded expectations. This hotel offers fantastic value for money, and I think some lower-rated reviews may stem from expecting a 5-star luxury experience at a very affordable price. For the average traveller, this hotel is perfect. It's directly across from a well-connected train station, making it easy to get around. Plus, it’s within walking distance to vibrant neighbourhoods filled with markets, shops, and dining options. The rooms are compact, but they’re on par with other hotels in Tokyo, and they make excellent use of space. Each room is well-equipped with amenities, from complimentary water and tea to toiletries like toothbrushes, razors, hairbands, and combs. Fresh towels and supplies are replenished daily, which I really appreciate. One of the highlights is the on-site onsen—a wonderful addition! The hotel even provides free tattoo cover-up stickers, making it accessible for everyone. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for those looking for comfort, convenience, and value without the luxury price tag.

APA Hotel was clean and well-maintained. The room was small, as is typical in Japan, but slightly more spacious than the one we stayed in while in Osaka. For a solo traveler or a couple, it’s perfect. The hotel spa was a nice bonus. We didn’t book breakfast at the hotel, but there are a couple of convenience stores just outside, which was super convenient. The Metro station—Nishi-Shinjuku Gochome—is less than a minute’s walk from the hotel, and Shinjuku Station is only two stops away. Just try to avoid rush hour, otherwise commuting is easy and manageable. The bed and pillows were comfortable, making for a good night’s sleep. A special mention to the housekeeping staff, especially Riyas—he was professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful in guiding us to halal restaurants around the Shinjuku area. We also stayed at an APA Hotel in Osaka and loved the experience there as well. We’ll definitely be staying with APA again in the future.

The facilities were very comfortable, clean, and well organized. Everything in the room had instructions next to them in both Japanese and English and the TV had a home page with various information about the surrounding area. It also had instructions on wearing a Yukata which was really helpful for preparing for my first onsen experience within the hotel. All of the staff were exceptionally kind, patient, and helpful. In particular, S. Takahashi was incredibly helpful in helping us coordinate getting our bags shipped to our next hotel, a process that had seemed daunting at first but his patient guidance made it a totally stress free experience. Staying at this hotel wasn't just a good experience, but because so much effort was put into providing information resources to the guests, it feels like staying at this hotel made us better prepared for the rest of our trip throughout Japan!

Location to transport. Quiet. Clean rooms. Staff try their best to help. English speakers, have patience if there's an issue, eventually someone can help or you will need to stick to what you know and they will eventually come around. They just have a slow process or sometimes will say yes and not follow through, likely because they think they understand but don't. Definitely come prepared with your translator. (Eg. My travel buddy had no air con, his room became a sauna!!!! After a few calls and a visit to the desk at midnight and afterwards, the staff kept saying they would or had fixed it. They didn't, it made him sick and he didn't sleep a wink. The next day, after requesting to move, the agent simply apologised and activated his room properly, which turned on the aircon)

Great value for money, located literally on a subway station so it's very convenient to go places, I had a single room which was tiny but perfect for a man of my size. Best breakfast out of the 3 star hotels I've been to, very versatile and actually had cheese which in Japan is kinda rare. Very close to great local restaurants and supermarkets. .
